Inspired by the inner and outer transformations in my life, my creative drive of more than 50 years has been the existential necessity of bridging the paradoxes of multidimensional depths of Being.
Born in Czechoslovakia to parents who survived the horrors of concentration camps, the beginning of my artwork was influenced by my inner confusion and search.
In my twenties, I moved to Israel, where my life received new roots. When my house burned down in a forest fire in 2010 in an artist village in the Carmel Mountains, I moved to Prague, where part of my family lived. Prague became my new haven.
Moreover, the inspiration of its unique beauty, history, mythology, places of power, towers and bridges, hills, trails, river, streams and its sky, renewed my creativity.
In Prague, I realized that my life is a bridge. It is a bridge between cultures, religions and worldviews, between external life circumstances and my spiritual aspirations…
Before, living in Israel, inspired by Dr. Yitzhaq Hayutman I painted the cycle of visions “Heavenly Jerusalem”. With cabalistic structures of sacred geometry and detailed views of earthly Jerusalem, paintings contain as well complex spiritual, mythic and historical archetypes.
After various exhibitions in Prague, called “Connecting Prague – Jerusalem”, I realized that my next life and creative task is “Heavenly Prague”.
During its more than thousand-year history, Prague was connected to Jerusalem in many ways. The most fundamental of them was the visionary aspiration of King Charles IV. for “Heavenly Jerusalem”, which was expressed in his plan of the New Town.
Moreover, Charles IV. created his royal crown according to the sacred geometry of the Heavenly Jerusalem vision, and his messianic anticipation was the impetus for building the Karlštejn castle.
Prague is on metaphorical and mythical levels both underground and earthly, as well as resplendent and heavenly.
Heavenly Prague is a dynamic place in space-time and beyond, happening here and now…
