This painting was finished at the eve of the year 2000, a time of great anticipation for the miracle of global peace.
The view from the South is from a bird’s eye perspective. The whole Old City of Jerusalem is bathed in a festive light of celebration.
Thus, in this vision, the jubilant Planet Earth is receiving a “soft landing” upon the gossamer Tabernacle, raised high above the whole Old City, with the holy sites of the 3 monotheistic religions. Now the whole city is the Temple, realized under one roof.
The Tree of Light is prominent in the foreground, standing above the Peace Forest of earthly Jerusalem. Children of New Jerusalem are decorating it for the joyous celebration of Peace.
